Birth Announcements & 4th of July

3 months, that’s not too bad for getting birth announcements out right? I wasn’t going to waste money on a professional photographer because these kids are rarely in sync. Either one is crying or one is sleeping so a picture with them both awake, not screaming, and relatively cooperative is going to be rare. So here it is.

These are the outfits they wore for their first 4th of July. Here are some pictures from that BBQ.

A day of blessings

On July 4th our children were blessed at our church. It is a ceremonious prayer that happens usually when the child is a newborn. We feel very blessed to be apart of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and that our children will know those blessings as well. We are so thankful for the family that was able to attend and share this moment with us.

After my mom selflessly spent over 4 weeks helping us, I shamefully did not get one good picture of her holding both her grand babies. Mom, the first thing we do the next time we see you is get some pictures. I love you so much!

Better look quick because I don’t know if it will happen again. My babies are wearing matching outfits, and yes they look cute, but its just not right. They may have been born on the same day and shared my uterus for 35 weeks, but other than that we feel like they are completely different.

As you can see, Thomas doesn’t like it either.

I am happy to announce that I am now officially a Stay At Home Mom and I could not be more excited. After much thought and trepidation we decided to take the plunge and accept whatever sacrifices we have to take to make this work.

I don’t want to sound like I’m kissing butt, because I don’t have to now, but I really do have to say that my boss, now my former boss, and department director were really great about all the time that I had to take off for the pregnancy and maternity. I know that I didn’t have a very significant job, but I really didn’t want to make anyone’s job more difficult by not being there. So now they can hopefully fill the position quickly (I’m pretty sure I know someone that is ready to take the job and I would be SUPER happy if that worked out for him.)

So, now that I am a SAHM, I can’t wait to join all the other mommies in the play groups and actually get to know some people outside of work oh and also do all the wonderful things to help my babies grow and develop. So… CALL ME!

I’ve seen so many beautiful baby pictures where the babies are perfectly posed and in focus. I now realize that the photographer took a million shots to get that one perfect picture. Here are some pictures from our first photo shoot. I say first because I’m going to try this again. If those aren’t successful, you may see one of these pictures on our birth announcements (which by the way, how much time do I have to get those out?)

Here are some pictures of our finished babies’ room. We didn’t think we would be able to fit the 2 cribs, change table, book shelf, and chair…but we did.

Oh, and there is a good chance that we will bring our babies home tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed.

2 Weeks Old

Thomas and Natalie have stolen our hearts. I know we are a little biased but we think they are so beautiful and sweet. They are still in the hospital but progressing so fast. There have been some hard moments, not having them here at home, but having each other has gotten us through it. There is no estimated time when they will come home so we just try to find joy in their day to day progress.

Here is a video of Natalie. She pulled her feeding tube out so we got to see her pretty much for the first time without tubes on her face. She melts my heart.
