Over the weekend I saw the movie AUSTRALIA and am totally mesmerized by the young child actor Brandon Walters. He was magical! I enjoyed the movie overall, the story was interesting and the other actors did well too.  I would put it on my list of movies to see again (mostly to understand the dialog better – “Them cheecky bulls”.) I tried to find out more about Walters but being a first time actor there isn’t much. It is kind of sad because he is now 13, a young man, and I feel like it would be more difficult to cast him in that childlike innocent role. He is beautiful though!

Time is so hard to come by lately. I struggle to find the time (and energy) I know my family deserves. I know that Michael is completely justified in resenting the many other activities that take me away from the most important thing in my life. So last night I put away all the pressing tasks, to-do lists, and chores and watched this feel-good movie. I really enjoyed it and I have to admit that a PG film about LOVE was exactly what I needed.

Great for kids and adults I thought. Amy Adams was adorable, and Patrick Dempsey was great too (but his hair didn’t seem as sexy in this movie as it does in Grey’s Anatomy) but I felt like GA has taken its toll on him because he seemed so bummed and emotionally drained. His performance in Sweet Home Alabama would have been perfect for the Prince Charming/Happy Ever After mood that is set in this film.
