13 things at 13 months

Filed Under (kids) by janae.galindo on 30-06-2011

To the future Thomas and the future Natalie: I’m sorry I did not write more things down. I have done almost no journaling in the 13 months you have been alive. But there has been so many new developments in the last month that I thought now would be a good time to make a list.

13 things about Thomas

1. He knows the word “no” and shakes his head when I say the word.

2. He got his first haircut. (I did it myself. And yes I chased him around the following day with scissors because it was such a hack job.)

before his haircut

after haircut and walking

3. He is walking pretty good all by himself. I love the little duck waddle with the bum sticking out and the arms hitched up high like little wings.

4. Loves to play peek-a-boo especially with his bib at meal times.

5. Has started to bite me. Thankfully he hasn’t been biting Natalie . . . yet.

6. Very loving to stuffed animals and blankets. He gets right in there with a big cuddle attack.

7. His all-time favorite thing is opening and closing doors (including cabinets, gates, his play house door; even better if he can go in and out. Seriously kid, that isn’t boring yet.)

opening and closing his house's front door

8. Got very sick for the first time. His temp reached 104.3 degrees.

9. Said his first words. They are “kitty” and “Adia” which is the kitty’s name. Still doesn’t say “mama” or “dadda”.

"screw dad, I'm over here to see Adia"

10. Weighs 22 lbs, 6 oz. (25%)

11. Is 30.5″ long (25%)

12. Has a giant head like his daddy. It is in the 97%.

13. Steals Natalie’s binkie when they are in their cribs, but gives her his blankets as payment. So nice. If only Natalie agreed to the trade.

pulls hair, but does it lovingly

13 things about Natalie

1. Has 11 teeth including 3 of the 4 1-year molars.

2. Loves to read books in mama’s lap.

not in mama's lap or reading a book, but you get the point

3. Favorite toys are the 2 egg shakers from her music drum. She gets one in each hand and just goes crazy.

4. She can walk small distances (4-5 steps and can even turn) but still prefers to hold onto fingers.

so happy to be walking

5. Loves music and dancing to it. We were in Best Buy the other day and Michael Jackson came on and she LOVED IT!

6. Throws her food :( and smears it in her hair and face.

i have to try really hard not to laugh

7. Constantly drooling. Probably because she has been getting 4 molars.

note the drool on chin and shirt (oh, also note the sweet curls)

8. Turns out she’s a jealous baby. She didn’t like all the time Thomas got from Mommy when he had a 104.3 degree temperature.

9. Has started to throw temper tantrums (on the floor rolling kind of tantrums).

10. Weighs 20 lbs, 6 oz. (25%)

11. Is 29″ long (25%)

20 lbs of sweetness

12. Total water baby. We started going to a play group a few weeks ago and the park has a splash pad. She can’t get enough.

13. First word is: mama! Bless her heart. I should be more gracious and not care this much, but IN YOUR FACE MICHAEL!

Server Crash & Videos!!

Filed Under (Family) by Michael Galindo on 27-01-2011

So the server hard drive crashed again…but I think I got it all squared away this time! And for sticking it out and still reading our blog (even though we have had to re-post a few things) I’ll post some videos of the twins here!!

Here’s Thomas’ newest thing…He likes to scream (Like his Auntie Candace!)

And Natalie loves to babble with Papa

Happy Halloween!

We are in Utah for Thomas and Natalie’s first Halloween and loving the weather and all family. I didn’t think it was worth it to dress up the kids in real costumes but couldn’t resist a little bit of flair to celebrate the holiday.

I made Natalie’s tutu. It is a no-sew project, really fun. And I made Thomas’ pumpkin hat. We hope that you all had a safe and fun Halloween.

A new favorite: Exersaucers!

Filed Under (kids) by janae.galindo on 06-10-2010

Now that T and N can hold their heads up pretty good we got the exersaucers out and they LOVE them. And I love them too because they wear themselves out playing in them. They were both so content the other morning I took some pictures to remember that it is possible to have two babies happy at the same time.

4 Months Old

Filed Under (kids) by janae.galindo on 15-09-2010

Thomas and Natalie are 4 months old; can you believe it! Here is a couple of things about them:

They are both teething already and out of all the toys we bought them they like mom and dad’s fingers the best.

Thomas spits up a whole bunch so he always smells like baby barf (and for that matter, so do I).

Natalie’s favorite game is to kick the blankets off when she goes to sleep (she wins every time.)

Thomas weighs 13 lbs, 6 oz and is in the 25th percentile, though his head is 43 cm around and in the 60th percentile (he has a huge noggin.)

Natalie weighs 12 lbs, 8 oz and is also in the 25th percentile.

Natalie loves the bouncy chair, the tummy time play mat, the swing and even her sleep chair (they sleep in chairs due to their reflux).

Thomas doesn’t really like any of it, but he loves this nest that I make him out of the white/yellow blanket in the pictures.

They both love to smile.

Natalie’s eyes are changing, but I can’t determine what color they are: green, hazel, brown, gray. It changes moment to moment.

Thomas’ eyes are still bright blue and I hope they stay that color. He’s so handsome.

Natalie is bald in the back of her head, but that is ok because I’m pretty sure she will have curly hair.

They both are talking in their cute gurgles and moans. I love it and can’t get enough of it.

#1 and #2 outfits provided by Denae and Ben Katzoff. Thanks guys!

Birth Announcements & 4th of July

Filed Under (Family, Fun Stuff, kids) by janae.galindo on 10-08-2010

3 months, that’s not too bad for getting birth announcements out right?  I wasn’t going to waste money on a professional photographer because these kids are rarely in sync. Either one is crying or one is sleeping so a picture with them both awake, not screaming, and relatively cooperative is going to be rare. So here it is.

These are the outfits they wore for their first 4th of July. Here are some pictures from that BBQ.

A day of blessings

Filed Under (Family, kids) by janae.galindo on 10-08-2010

On July 4th our children were blessed at our church. It is a ceremonious prayer that happens usually when the child is a newborn. We feel very blessed to be apart of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and that our children will know those blessings as well. We are so thankful for the family that was able to attend and share this moment with us.

“Twinners”

Filed Under (kids) by janae.galindo on 22-06-2010

Better look quick because I don’t know if it will happen again. My babies are wearing matching outfits, and yes they look cute, but its just not right. They may have been born on the same day and shared my uterus for 35 weeks, but other than that we feel like they are completely different.

As you can see, Thomas doesn’t like it either.
